From the Principal

Dear Hommocks Parents,

Welcome to the new Hommocks Middle School Web site.  Ask them, “What did you do in school today?” the typical middle school child will claim, “Nothing!” That’s why middle schools have a special responsibility to communicate directly with parents and the community. This website is one of many communication forums we maintain. Check the website regularly to learn about upcoming calendar events, receive important announcements, and much more. We’ve even included a Tip of the Week to help your child navigate middle school life.

In addition to the website, many other avenues of communication are available. Attend daytime and evening Conversations with the Principal; pot luck parent luncheons and dinners featuring guidance counselors, teachers, school psychologists and administrators; and a weekly email bulletin, HMXpress, published by the PTA. Twice each year, parents can sit in their children’s classes on Back to School Night and Visiting Day.

We hope this website and the other sources of communication will help parents solve the middle school mystery.  These are wonderful years in your child’s life characterized by an amazing rate of learning and personal growth.  We don’t want you to miss out.

Regards,

Seth Weitzman

Principal
